Whats The Difference Between Elite And Average Armor?
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ELITE AND AVERAGE ARMOR? I don't get it! Why get Elite when all it does is have a different name
For example: Why get Elite Platemail for like 75K when you can get Platemail for about 15K and save urself 60K!? IM ANGRY... |

/facepalm Because they look Different
Theres no stat changes, elite armor just looks cooler. No need for the excessive smilies, its really annoying. Last edited by Mr. Undisclosed; Apr 02, 2008 at 08:36 AM // 08:36.. |

Calm down...it's just because elite has a different look. It's suppose to look more "elite" than the 1k armor. Hence the name. You don't need it, there's no stat difference so calm down man!

The only diffrence between Elite and normal armor is that elite is
1. sexier :P 2. Shows your not some worthless nub (not that ppl who dnt have are) 3. You can display elite armor in hall of monuments i currentaly have 5 sets over 2 chars I mean the whole point of getting elite armor is to make yourself look more elite :P If your a cheapo then just stick with the 1k armor :P |

The only difference is the look of it, more exclusive.
Here are the Armor sets if you wish to compare: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Armor_types http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Armor |

If someone looks really ridiculous and with so many protruding spikes, feathers, fins, or weird sticks, that they obviously have to walk sideways through doors, they're wearing elite armor. So it's a vanity thing. People buy them because they like to look like spiky Sonic the Hedgehogs. From an in-game point of view, however, the only difference is that elite armors can be put on display in the players Hall of Monuments. |

Yep, 1k temp looks cooler than 15k temp i think.
But generally. 15k is to 1k as burberry is to target. Basically you just show off the label =P Last edited by wu is me; Apr 02, 2008 at 09:59 AM // 09:59.. |

Elite armor is sexier... That is, with the exception of (male) Monk armor I'm afraid. Only Primeval Armor (Nightfall) makes Monks looking a bit better (imo). Everything else looks like dull sacks, is hardly paintable (only small spots and lines) and seems to be designed to encourage Monks to stay back while casting their healing spells. I wish Monk clothing could look like Necromancer or Elementalist clothing, sigh.

Elite Armour is a money sink, through-and-through. It's for people who want it or can afford it, just because it's no better than the 1k varient does not mean that it's useless.
It's all about opinion. There are some armours I detest for my own characters (15k Druid's, female) and some that I love (15k Kurzick, Monk, female). |

It looks nicer, and even then it's only a matter of opinion.
